Drama therapy is a creative arts therapy, which uses the performance arts to promote psychological, emotional and social change. Drama therapists offer a safe environment for an individual service user or group to explore, address and deal with personal and social difficulties e.g. grief, anxiety, and personal growth. Drama therapists use a variety of interventions with service users including stories, puppetry, improvisation, drama and movement to allow service users to explore their past experiences and access their unconscious in a direct way to enable exploration and reflection.
We are pleased to welcome Imran Rumjon who has now joined our specialist team. He has over 12 year of experience working with service users on the Autistic Spectrum in a care and support role. He is now qualified as a Drama therapist and we will be arranging both individual and group sessions in the near future.
