Herts Homecare is not part of a large organisation or a franchise network. We are a family-run local care and support service. Our management and staff team have great passion and genuinely care for the service we deliver to our local community. We are registered with the CQC (Care Quality Commission); the body set up by government to regulate care provision in the UK.
Research has shown that most people, given the choice, would rather stay in the comfort and surroundings of their own homes as opposed to going into residential care. Our aim is to provide personalised care packages, carefully tailored to individual needs. This enables our service users to remain in their homes for as long as possible. We will endeavour to meet service user’s needs with particular sensitivity to race, religion, cultural background and personal preference.
Initial consultation can be arranged in our offices or in the comfort of your own home. We will be happy to meet with you, along with members of your family, a trusted friend, social worker or advocate. We will discuss all the options available to you. Once it is agreed that a service can be provided, a comprehensive care plan is tailor-made to your requirements, taking into account your needs and wishes. We will then provide you with a fully integrated package of care and support. We underpin this by providing a 24-hour on-call service for emergencies.
Our rigorous recruitment policy ensures that each member of care staff is vetted and recruited appropriately. Each potential member of our care staff is required to complete a full enhanced DBS (formerly CRB- Criminal Reference Bureau) check, supply a minimum of two references (one of which must be from their most recent employer), ensuring that the applicant’s full training and work history is confirmed.
Once recruited, they then undergo intensive specialised induction training. Each member of staff then follows a personal development plan which ensures that their career and training needs are met, along with bi-monthly supervisions and annual appraisals, which give them the opportunity to express their views, desires and training needs. We are proud to say that our staff are paid above the industry standard. We have in place a structure which rewards hard work and dedication as our staff members develop their career with us. Our service users benefit by having highly skilled, happy and motivated staff interacting with them.
We regularly obtain staff and service user feedback to ensure that our high standards are met at all times. We are constantly evolving our services and informational resources and bringing on board relevant new technology as and when it becomes available, in order to make sure we are delivering a quality of service to our customers which is second to none.
